Home. Many of us have said "I am just taking a break".. We all have. But what are we truly saying? Are we saying that we are going back to a place where we are comfortable, or are we saying we need recoup our energy so we can keep moving forward? There is a huge difference.
In this great nation of ours, we have a huge strong work ethic that has made this country prosperous. But one of the things that it has created is a lack of rest from work. I believe this puts a strain on people to have a works a mentality; meaning you're not significant if you're not doing something. But if you work from rest, then you are working from not pleasing anyone or even your self!! One thing I also noticed is that when you truly rest, you may not be thinking of work but an idea will come up and what would usually take hours to figure out only takes minutes to solve. While walking in rest you are always moving forward.
Some people don't want to rest though. Rather they want to give up and not move on. Take a look at Israel and Egypt.
Numbers 14: 1-4
1That night all the people of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. 2All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this desert! 3Why is the LORD bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?” 4And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”
Heres a people that after 400 years of slavery, the Lord was taking them to the promise land. Even then, they were asking to to back to Egypt. Do we say that today? Lets say you moved to another state, and its becoming more difficult, do you move back because you knew how to deal with the pain back home... ? It's called comfort zone.
The best way I can give a picture of this is in football. When your team takes a time out, you're resting and planning to make a touch down. You're not planning to the next great punt to the other team so you can feel safe..

Perspective
I love to travel. Particarly when I am on the plane and looking out the window. Looking out the window I get to see space, because I am above the clouds. And there are times I get to see the moon even at 12 o'clock. For me its a time for me to listen to God. Most of the time he shows me the same 2 things. When you position yourself above your challenges you will see your stars. You can go even higher than before. Today was one of those times, you want tell the pilot kick of the afterburners and go higher!!
The 2nd thing he shows me is the land. I get to see the differnent types of terrains. Its amazing how beutiful the earth is formed. From snow top coverd moutains to beutiful patterns of rivers and lakes. But the land is waiting for someone to take it and rise up. Can a nation, country, state, or city be saved in a day ? I believe it can. When you fly over a nation or a city that is known for crimes or poverty, but you see its beauty, then you know it's worth saving for. It's like God was showing me from His perspective: this is how I see this land. Look how beautiful she is.
Living a life from a heavenly perspective will always position you for victory.

Walking out your dreams
The last 2 days I have been in 8 hour meetings at my work to plan out our next project. Its been long and sometime boring :) but it has some what productive. During these meetings I would see my co-workers getting discourage because they are talking about their potential problems. Don't get me wrong, understanding what challenges are ahead prepares you on how attack your directions. But if you look at your potential challenges as problems then you will have a deference attitude instead of an offence attitude. Going back to the hotel the Lord showed me that this is what happens when people start walking out their dreams.
For most of us, when we start something new or start a new job we are so excited because left a situation that we did not want to be in. From the outside the new job or place seems greener from the outside. But once we start we face the challenges that takes to maintain yard to stay green. I truly believe we all have to walking our dreams, but when we do you will start facing challenges because how we respond to it determines how much you gain.
Before going to bed I looked at the plan for out next release, and I saw the challenges. Part of my job is to spot areas where we need to look into from an overall perspective. What I found was all the issues were able to be solve with new existing cool technology. When God places you in front of a challenge, he has given all your need to resolve it. You may not know it, but that's part of life. The more we found out about our self, the more we grow into our dreams.
I was really not looking forward to my trip, because I could get caught up with all the problems. But I decided to turn it around during our launch meetings and talk about their dreams. When we got back to the meeting they were laughing and finding new ways to make the client happy. Part of dreams is to bring hope to people, and this week was just another opportunity for me.
